The first edition of the Forum on Tourism and Innovation, organized by the Ministry of Economy of the United Arab Emirates and with the collaboration of the UNWTO (World Tourism Organization of the UN), was held in Dubai, in the presence more than 350 managers in the tourism sector worldwide.
It was a day that had an intense agenda of workshops and speakers of great prestige worldwide, putting the focus on innovation and its transformative power in the travel industry. In the words of Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, His Royal Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum “Innovation is not an option but a necessity. It is not a culture but a style of work, and the governments and companies that do not innovate are at risk of losing its competitiveness and remain far behind. “
This forum will be held during the Innovation Week at UAE and aims to help entrepreneurs in the region to know the scenery where disruptive changes are coming inexorably. The objectives of the forum are to position the UAE as a leader in global tourism, applying innovation to a smart host city and develop an intelligent tourism, as well as the transfer of knowledge and best practices of leaders in the tourism sector.
It is in this context of sharing experiences and systems which are in the Spanish company Baraka Travel Club, agency and wholesaler with nearly 20 years experience in the tourism sector and awarded in Internationalization last 2015 by the Chamber of Commerce. From its official headquarters in Dubai, the director Oscar Herencia says: “We participated in this forum for the express invitation of the organization, as we have a path that is consolidating each year in the UAE, which has positioned us as leaders in innovation with our booking and managing travel platform on-line, Dynamic Traveller”. This new application was presented with great success and caused excitement among the audience during the panel “Tackling Tourism Challenges with Low-Cost Innovation”, in which also participated Dr. Roger Carter, Managing Director of TEAM Tourism Consulting, Sean Dennis, Co-Founder & Chief Happiness Officer of Loyyal, and Yousef Tuqan Tuqan, Group Vice President of Brand Marketing & Loyalty of Jumeirah Group.
A new global tourism forum that joins the consolidated Arabian Travel Market, and to which the industry must pay attention because of the level and experience of its participants.
